A weekend in the Lakes with CUHWC. On Saturday, I joined the fast group managing to complete the 7 Coniston fells by midday! We then had a leisurely stroll back to the bunkhouse. On Sunday, we found a white world outside - I joined a duffery walk over Black Fell and Loughrigg Fell.

After speech day, I headed out for a quick afternoon walk in the Forest of Bowland from the Jubilee Tower taking in Grit Fell.

I joined Summitt Good and led a walk over Place Fell. Windy in the morning with hail showers, turning into persistent rain in the afternoon!

I finally finished the Welsh 3000 ft mountains with a south to north Carneddau ridge walk through deep snow and dense cloud! The weather improved on Sunday for a walk up Crimpiau.

My family visited me in Carnforth over half term and we enjoyed exploring my local national parks and AONBs.

I stayed with David in Derby for the weekend. On Saturday we walked in Monsal Dale in the White Peak and on Sunday joined CUHWC for the annual freshers' trip to Edale

David joined me for a weekend in Wasdale finishing off the remaining Wainwrights in the area. Dry all weekend, cloud gradually clearing on Saturday and settled at 550m on Sunday!

David and Alex joined me for a weekend in the North West Lake District. We spent the night in Cockermouth with Lottie, Kate and Egg. On Saturday we enjoyed a sunny walk from Buttermere over Mellbreak, Great Borne, Starling Dodd, Red Pike, High Stile and High Crag. On Sunday we enjoyed a gentler walk over Barf, Lord's Seat, Broom Fell and Whinlatter.

After the Alpine Course, we stayed in Switzerland for another week but moved to Zermatt, underneath the Matterhorn. The weather was fantastic and we managed quite a lot of big ascents out of the valley in various directions!

David and I had a day in Geneva before travelling over to Leysin to meet other CUHWC members for our Alpine training week. Photos from the course were rather sporadic due to the tecnhical nature of the course. We covered everything from climbing and scrambling to via ferrata and glacier travel. An excellent week.

A few of us met up at Olivia's house in Padstow for a few days on the beach. A particular highlight was the beach barbecue on Saturday night.

The weather was considerably better for this year's trip to Glen Shiel. Managed the Five Sisters of Kintail, the south Shiel ridge, a coastal walk on Skye and much more.

I returned to Cambridge for the garden party. The cake and spread of food were amazing as usual. Afterwards we punted to Grantchester and back, having the usual barbeque on the meadows.
